Privacy - The Short Version

Okay, we're reefers — so we're absolutely data collectors. Water parameters, PAR readings, growth logs... we get it. But when it comes to your data, we keep things minimal and respectful. Here's the honest rundown on what happens when you visit AussieReefing.

What we collect

We use Plausible Analytics to get a basic sense of how the site is used — things like which pages get visited and which products get clicked. That's it.

What we don't collect

• No cookies. None. Zero. Not even a cheeky tracking one.
• No personal data. We don't know who you are and we don't want to.
• No fingerprinting. We're not trying to follow you around the internet.
• No third-party trackers. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, nothing like that.

What about the future?

We're thinking about adding user accounts down the track — things like wishlists, stock alerts, or saving your favourite shops. If and when that happens, we'll obviously need to collect some personal info (like an email address) to make it work. We'll update this page before any of that goes live, and we'll be just as upfront about it as we are now. No surprises.

Why we use analytics at all

We want to know if people actually find this useful. Are folks using the search? Do the new arrivals get looked at? That kind of thing. It helps us make the site better for everyone. Plausible is privacy-first, open source, and doesn't use cookies — which is why we picked it.
